This online RPG game is awesome! And the most wonderful part of it is that it's free. Too bad they don't have a Macintosh version for it.
So, RAPPELZ, I consider it a very underrated game, but that's just me. Pets are very important in leveling, especially in dungeons. The game is developed by the Korean company named nFlavor. Although it's free-to-play, to become more than just efficient, you need to acquire special items in the Cash Shop. It's set up in a medieval fantasy world.
It contains three races: Deva- as angels of Light; Asura- angels of Darkness; Gaia- Humans that possess an affinity with nature.
Each race has its own set of jobs:
Warriors: High physical attack or physical defense capabilities.
Magicians: Magical attack or healing/buffing capabilities.
Summoners: Typically focus on strengthening pets through buffing or healing, or with the help of passive skills.
The characters are highly dependent on pets, so, if you want to level up decently, you have got to have a good pet that matches your own race, job, skills. You need a pet to complement you.
The game looks good, the locations are beautiful, and the characters don't look so clownish, like I noticed with other MMORPGS. The fight styles are different, according to each race/job.
My personal favourite is the Asura race, particularly the Warriors. The Assassins and Slayers are much feared in-game, because of their great Damage Dealing power. As a matter of fact, they are THE Damage Dealers of the game. Their stealth and precision adds to their greatness. But, the only weak point of their race is the poor defense abilities. Also, having such strong skills with very high attack, they naturally draw mobs towards them without even attacking them. Therefore, investing in a strong pet that can act as tanker and healer, while boosting their own (character's) skills, is ideal, as they lack in self-defense (the characters).
